Stay Motivated This Summer

Sometimes it seems impossible to keep motivated in the summer with all the vacations plus the kids being out of school. School year routines are thrown out, and everything just seems out of order but it’s important to keep on track. Here are 5 ways to keep you motivated this summer:

1. Keep The Goal In Mind (One Goal)
Don’t take too much on at one time, if we have too much going on in our lives it takes all of our energy and motivation. It’s the most common mistake we make. You cannot maintain energy and focus if you are trying to accomplish too many goals at one time. Try to focus on one thing at a time by making a list and prioritizing in order of importance.

2. Find Inspiration
Find others that have achieved the things you are trying to achieve and post their success story on your bathroom mirror or beside your bed so you can keep yourself motivated.

3. Stay in Routine
It’s important to keep your regular routine going even through summertime. Make it a daily goal to go to bed at a decent hour and get up at the same time every morning. Venturing off your routine can cause you to justify the sugary snacks needed to give you the extra energy boost to get you through your day or the perfect excuse to skip your exercise.

4. Share your Goals
Share you goals with your spouse or a friend so that they can hold you accountable. Whether you are planning on running a marathon or loosing 10lbs., ask them to check in on you to keep you focused on your target.

5. Start Small
Try to set goals that are achievable. If you want to loose 50lbs. than set short goals like losing 5lbs by a certain date. It makes it seem like a smaller task and not so overwhelming.
