Don’t Take a Vacation from your Diet

Summer has arrived, your bags are packed and the last thing you are thinking about is your weight loss goals. But do you really want all your progress to be thrown out the window just because you are going on vacation? It doesn’t have too! It is possible to enjoy your vacation while staying focused on becoming a healthier you. Just consider incorporating these simple tips into your routine while away from home:
Plan Your Pleasure – Want to eat out while on vacation? Plan your other meals during the day so that they can balance out your calorie intake and still allow you to splurge on something special.
Try Something New - Unfortunately you cannot pack your gym in your travel bag but you can take advantage of this time away by trying a new activity. Make a list of all the activities you always wanted to try, but didn’t have the time to. Try something new and make it point to try it while on vacation.Drink Skinny – Enjoy a nice cold beverage during the day but remember, calories, sugar and fat can add up quickly in the beverages you drink. Think before you order and remember seasonal fruit and club soda can be the perfect mix to any drink!

Avoid Buffets and Sample the Fresh Local Food – Cut back on the all you can eat buffets that feed the masses and look for a place that serves the fresh local catch of the day. Even better pass on the french fries and ask for a side of local corn – your waist line will be grateful!

Should you venture off course at anytime during your vacation remember to give yourself a break because tomorrow is always a new day!
